We knew early on that the place that we would splurge the most would be the kitchen.  We enjoy cooking with fresh ingredients, from scratch, and we wanted a kitchen that was professional level.  Here's what we've chosen so far:

 
Cooktop:
The cooktop is a Viking 48" with 6 gas burners and a grill. We debated between this and a 36" top with no grill, but we decided that we'd regret not going for the grill right from the start

Cooktop Hood:
The cooktop hood will have a similar backsplash and shelf.  Because the grill on the cooktop, we needed to go with the heavy duty hood and ventilation system.

Ovens (times two):
We wanted dual 30" Viking ovens, and had always seen them placed one over the other.  While touring a Parade of Homes house in 2003, we spotted a setup with two ovens, one on each side of the cooktop.  We liked it so much, we went so far as to hire the architect and builder!

Refrigerator:
The refrigerator is Sub-Zero, manufactured practically in our own backyard.  We went with the 42" rather than the bigger ones.
